Terms of Service

Effective date: August 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GCENA mobile application, the gcena.com website, and related services ("GCENA", "the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using GCENA, you agree to these Terms.

1. About GCENA

GCENA is a social and emotional wellness platform. It includes an AI companion chat (Ciel in Safe Space), a personal profile wall (Keepsake), a community feed (Campfire), private messaging with voice and video calls (Inner Circle), optional in-app live streaming in Campfire, and optional paid features described in these Terms.

GCENA is made and run by one independent developer working as a sole trader based in France — not by a company or a team. You can reach us at [email protected], and we answer personally.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use GCENA. If you are under 18, you should use the app with permission and guidance from a parent or guardian. You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure.

To buy a subscription or tokens, or to receive a payout, you must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Do not share your login credentials.
• Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
• One person, one account. Extra accounts created to inflate tips or payouts are not allowed.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse others
• Post hate speech, illegal content, or content that exploits or endangers others
• Share spam, scams, or misleading information
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt GCENA
• Use GCENA for unlawful purposes
• Upload or share music, video, photos, or other media that you do not own and do not have permission to use — including a song or clip copied from YouTube, Spotify, or another service and used as a post, video, or Keepsake profile music. See section 5 for the full copyright policy.
• Use AI features to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Manipulate tips, tokens, or payouts in any way described in section 10

5. User content, copyright, and notice-and-takedown

5.1 Your content and the license you grant us

You keep ownership of content you create or upload to GCENA — posts, messages, photos, videos (including GCENA Reels), My Day items, comments, and profile music ("User Content"). By posting or uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content only as needed to operate the app — for example, showing your post on your wall, in Campfire when you choose to share publicly, or playing your profile music to people who visit your Keepsake wall. This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies we must keep for a limited time for backup, legal, or safety reasons.

5.2 Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the User Content you post. By uploading it, you confirm that:

• you own it, or you have every license, consent, and permission needed to upload it and to grant us the license in section 5.1;
• it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights; and
• it does not break these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law.

Do not upload music, video, images, or other media copied from YouTube, Spotify, or any other service unless you personally hold the right to use it that way — for a post, a video, or as Keepsake profile music. A short clip, including a video of 30 seconds or less, does not become lawful to copy just because it is short.

5.3 GCENA's role as a host

GCENA is a platform that hosts content uploaded by users. We do not select, author, or pre-approve the music, videos, or photos that users choose to upload, and we do not undertake to review every upload before it is posted. We may remove, restrict, or disable access to any User Content at any time if we believe it breaks these Terms, the law, or someone else's rights, or if we receive a valid report or notice about it. Not removing something immediately does not mean we approve of it or give up our right to remove it later.

5.4 Copyright complaints (notice-and-takedown)

If you believe User Content on GCENA infringes your copyright — or you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner — please send a notice to [email protected]. You may also use [email protected] with the subject line "Copyright report". To help us act quickly, please include:

• your name, and an email or postal address where we can reach you;
• a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
• where the material appears in GCENA — a username, post, profile, or screenshot is enough if you do not have a direct link;
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• a statement, made in good faith, that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; and
• your signature (typed name is enough for an email).

Once we receive a notice with enough of this information to act on, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the reported content and let the user who posted it know. We take copyright complaints seriously and aim to act on valid notices promptly, though we cannot promise a fixed deadline for every case.

5.5 If your content was removed (counter-notice)

If content you posted was removed and you believe this was a mistake — for example, the content was misidentified, or you do hold the necessary rights — you may reply to [email protected] (or [email protected]) with:

• your name and contact details;
• identification of the content that was removed and where it appeared;
• a good-faith statement that you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification; and
• your signature (typed name is enough for an email).

We will review counter-notices and may restore content where appropriate under applicable law. We are not obliged to restore content that still appears to break these Terms or the law for any other reason. Because GCENA is operated from France (see section 21), disputes that cannot be resolved this way fall under the governing law and courts described there.

5.6 Repeat infringement

We may warn, temporarily restrict, or permanently terminate the account of any user who repeatedly uploads infringing content, or who clearly uses GCENA to distribute pirated music, video, or other copyrighted material.

5.7 Other intellectual property complaints

Trademark, privacy, impersonation, or other rights complaints can be sent to the same address. We will review them and may remove content or restrict the account involved where appropriate.

5.8 In-app reporting

You can also report a post, a person, or a conversation directly in the app — Settings → Report a Problem, or the report/block option next to the post, profile, or Inner Circle conversation itself. In-app reports help us investigate quickly, but if you are a rights holder seeking formal removal under copyright law, please also send the written notice described in section 5.4 so we have everything we need to act.

6. AI companion (Ciel)

Ciel is an AI-powered companion. Ciel provides automated responses for conversation and emotional support, and can also help you word a message in Inner Circle. Ciel is not a human, therapist, doctor, lawyer, or emergency service, and Ciel's replies may be wrong. Do not rely on Ciel for medical, legal, financial, or crisis decisions. See our Disclaimer for important limits.

Without a subscription, Ciel replies are limited in each Safe Space mode (Just us, Duo, and Trio each have their own free allowance). Ciel's writing help in Inner Circle also has a free allowance — 30 drafts, so you can try it before deciding — after which it needs Premium. Premium removes both limits. Sending messages and making calls in Inner Circle never requires a subscription. To generate a reply, the text, and any photo you attach, is sent to our AI processing provider — see our Privacy Policy.

7. Payments — general

All purchases in GCENA are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your card details. By buying, you also agree to the store's own payment terms.

• Prices in these Terms are stated in euro as a reference. The store shows the exact price in your local currency, including any tax, before you confirm — that displayed price is what you pay.
• We may change prices or plan contents. Changes apply to future billing periods, and we will give notice where the law requires it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us. Where the law gives you a statutory right of withdrawal or refund, that right still applies.
• Deleting your GCENA account does not cancel an active store subscription.

8. Premium

GCENA offers one optional monthly, auto-renewing subscription: Premium. It renews automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge. There is no free trial.

Premium includes:

• Unlimited Ciel replies in Safe Space (Just us, Duo, and Trio)
• Unlimited Ciel writing help in Inner Circle (free accounts get 30 drafts to try)
• Access to Campfire paid emoji (gift reactions)
• 5,000 free emoji points every month, described in section 9
• A Premium mark on your profile

Free accounts keep full access to Keepsake, Campfire browsing and posting, Inner Circle messages, and voice and video calls, plus the free Ciel allowances described in section 6.

9. Tip tokens and paid emoji

Tip tokens (shown in the app as emoji points) let you send paid emoji reactions on Campfire posts, Keepsake wall posts, and profile photos. Paid emoji cost 10, 50, or 100 tokens and add the same number of likes to a post. Access to paid emoji requires Premium.

Buying tokens

Token packs are one-time, consumable purchases. Reference prices and amounts:

• 500 tokens — €1.29
• 1,300 tokens (1,200 + 100 bonus) — €2.99
• 2,500 tokens (2,200 + 300 bonus) — €4.99
• 5,500 tokens (4,700 + 800 bonus) — €9.99

Free monthly tokens vs purchased tokens — important

There are two kinds of tokens in your balance, and they behave differently:

• Free monthly tokens — 5,000 granted with an active Premium plan. They are for fun only. Spending them does not create any earning for the creator you send them to, and they have no cash value.
• Purchased tokens — bought in a pack. These are the only tokens that create a real, withdrawable credit for the creator you tip.

The app spends your free tokens first, then your purchased tokens.

Tokens are a limited licence to use a feature inside GCENA. They are not money, not a stored value or payment instrument, and they cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash by the person who bought them. Tokens are consumed the moment you spend them. Unused tokens are lost if your account is terminated for breaking these Terms. If a store refunds a token purchase, we may remove the matching tokens and reverse any credit already passed to a creator.

9a. Advertising in Campfire

To keep GCENA free for everyone, we show third-party advertisements in Campfire (Camp Wall and Camp Reels). Ads are provided by Google AdMob. We may also offer optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch to earn Fun Points, Paid Points, or free tokens for emoji reactions. Rewarded ads are never forced; you start them yourself.

• Ads are not placed inside Safe Space chats, Inner Circle private messages, or live voice/video calls.
• Ad availability depends on Google's inventory. If no ad is available, you receive no reward for that attempt.
• Daily limits and cooldowns may apply to rewarded watches to prevent abuse.
• Approved creators may later earn under rules we publish in the Creator section of the app; until we approve a creator application, only network Campfire ads appear in the feed.
• Advertising partners process device and advertising data as described in our Privacy Policy.

You agree not to interfere with ad delivery, use bots or automated tools to farm rewards, or otherwise abuse rewarded ads. We may remove rewards, suspend features, or ban accounts that do.

10. Creator earnings

If you turn on Creator mode, other users can tip your Campfire posts, Keepsake wall posts, and profile photo with paid emoji.

• What you earn: €0.0008 for each purchased token you receive — that is €0.40 for every 500 purchased tokens. Free monthly tokens received from other users earn you nothing.
• When it counts: only tips received while Creator mode is active are credited.
• Withdrawing: you can request a withdrawal once your balance reaches €20.00. A withdrawal request covers your full balance, and only one request can be pending at a time.

Fraud and abuse

We may withhold, reverse, or cancel any creator credit, and suspend the account involved, where we reasonably believe there has been:

• Self-tipping, or tipping between accounts controlled by the same person
• Fake, duplicate, bot, or purchased accounts
• Purchases later refunded or charged back
• Any other manipulation of tips, tokens, or payouts

11. Payouts

Creator earnings are paid out manually by us. There is no automatic or instant withdrawal, and payouts are not processed on a fixed schedule. We aim to review and send requests within a reasonable time after they are made.

• Your details: you must give us valid payout details — PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer, plus the account handle or IBAN and, where relevant, the account holder name and bank country. Creator withdrawal requests can include a payout note with the same information. If your details are wrong, incomplete, or belong to someone else, we cannot pay you.
• Creator minimum: €20.00.
• Costs: transfer, currency conversion, and intermediary bank fees charged by the payment provider may be deducted from the amount you receive.
• Taxes: money you receive from GCENA may be taxable income. You are solely responsible for declaring and paying any tax, social contribution, or other charge that applies to you, and for meeting any registration requirement where you live. We may ask for information we need to meet our own legal obligations before paying.
• Holds: we may pause a payout while we investigate a suspected breach of these Terms, a refund or chargeback, or a legal requirement.
• Closed accounts: if your account is terminated for breaking these Terms, any unpaid balance may be forfeited. If you simply stop using GCENA, contact us and we will arrange payment of a balance that has reached the minimum.

12. Campfire Live

You can start an optional live in Campfire. Viewers watch inside GCENA. The stream is carried by our own video server in Germany (LiveKit), in a room that is separate from Inner Circle voice and video calls. GCENA does not stream to YouTube and does not ask you to connect a YouTube account.

• You are responsible for what you show and say. These Terms and our Community Guidelines apply.
• We do not record lives for sale or advertising. Quality depends on your network and device. We do not guarantee availability.
• You can end a live at any time in the app.
• Do not use Campfire Live or Inner Circle calls for emergencies.

13. Voice and video calls

Inner Circle voice calls connect directly between users where possible; when a direct connection is not possible, call media is relayed through a relay server so the call can still connect. Video calls are carried by our own video server rather than going directly between the two phones. Video uses your camera only while a call is active and you have turned the camera on. We do not record calls. Call quality depends on your network and device, and we do not guarantee availability. Do not use GCENA calls for emergencies.

14. Moderation and enforcement

We may review reports, remove content, restrict features, withhold payouts, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community. You can report problems in the app under Settings → Report a Problem, or by email to [email protected]. If you believe we acted wrongly, reply to that address and we will look at it again.

15. Intellectual property

GCENA, including its name, branding, design, and software, is owned by GCENA and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of GCENA intellectual property. For rules about content users upload, including music and video copyright and how to send a takedown notice, see section 5.

16. Disclaimers

GCENA is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that the app will meet every personal need. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GCENA and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim related to GCENA will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or €10 if you have not paid anything. We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

18. Termination

You may stop using GCENA and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel that separately with Apple or Google. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required for legal or safety reasons.

19. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, because GCENA is operated from France.

Nothing here takes away rights you already have. If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country still apply in full, and you may bring a dispute before the courts where you live. We would much rather sort things out by email first — write to [email protected] and we will do our best to fix it.
